Week 1 Game Ideas

  1. Each person has a score card that is ranked 2-12. When you roll a number mark it off on the sheet. If you roll a number that you already marked off subtract that number from the overall score at the end. Whoever has the highest score wins.
  2. Each person has 5 cards and rolls the dice. Whoever rolls the highest number takes a card out of the shuffled deck. Whoever gets the most matches and is out of cards first wins. Each person also has their own dice and deck of cards.
  3. Everyone bets poker chips and rolls two dice. Whoever rolls the highest number wins the poker chips, unless someone rolls a double and then they win.
  4. Roll one dice and the number you roll is the number of cards that you draw from the deck – each person gets 8 rolls. Whoever can make the most matches wins. If the cards that you matched are the same color, number, or all of the same number – you get bonus points.
  5. Golf – Everyone gets a golf score sheet for nine ‘holes.’ Each person takes a turn to roll one dice to determine the ‘par’ of the hole. The par is applied to every player for that hole until the next hole, when someone else rolls the dice and then that number is the new par. Whoever is ‘teeing off’ has to roll two dice until they roll a double. Each roll is considered a ‘stroke.’ If you roll a double on the first try it is a ‘hole in one,’ second try is an ‘eagle,’ and so on. Every one has their own score card and dice.

  1. The second game sounds interesting and I like how it could be socially distanced if needed. At first I thought it was a group game, all using one deck and set of dice, but I like how everyone has their own deck and dice, so that it is more of a race. I feel like there is a lot more competition and anticipation than typical card games.

  2. I feel like the 5th idea is actually my favorite. I feel like this idea can be open for an audience that ranges from little kids when they think of “putt putt” but can also interest an older audience. Great ideas but I do think #5 is your strongest.

  3. The fourth and fifth ideas are interesting. I think if they were fleshed out a little more, they could be fun. There is a card game I have played called golf but it is different from the game you are describing. I feel like the golf one would be easier to design as well based off the sport in general.

  4. I like the first idea because it’s mostly luck based and it’s not complex so you can play it anytime and with anyone. I also like that it seems quick to play.

  5. I really like the fifth idea. I have only played mini golf before and if real golf terms are being used it would be a really interesting learning different golf terms.

  6. The 2nd game is interesting. I like the idea of combining dice rolls with card games. It has a good element of luck but if you wanted to add skill you could add some kind of strategy in the order you get rid of your cards.

  7. I really like your 5th idea, having a game of golf represented by cards and dice is something I’ve never seen before. Would this game be for a specific age range or is this game something all ages can play?
