Project: Interactive Poster

Choose one of the following destinations: Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah; the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Los Angeles County Department of Coroner; the Corn Palace, Or choose your own location/venue. Come up with a compelling reason for people to visit your selected destination then create an animated poster that artfully tells your story.

Benchmarks

  • Storyboard two ideas, each idea should be limited to between 5-8 panels with notes on movement and actions.
  • Assets (graphics & photography) are ready for a working critique.
  • One animation test should be done for a working critique.
  • Additional animations and interactivity tests should be ready for a working critique.
  • Completed animated poster is ready for final critique.

Technical Requirements:

An online poster should fit neatly on a tablet or smart phone without scrolling (you may choose either a vertical or horizontal orientation) or projected into a frame size of your choice. It should include some level of interactivity that illustrates the principles of input/output and inside/outside. The poster must use original graphics. It may use creative commons photography with credit given to the photographer. Lastly, you should be able to print the poster using no more than 5 frames and still be able to understand the story.

The poster can be created using Adobe Aero to create an augmented reality poster that we experience through our smart phones.
