  1. I liked the competitive aspect of this game. You have a lot of opportunities to really create strategic competition between players, and it would be only to your advantage to increase the amount of those that your game contains. I think it would be awesome to be able to switch hands, single cards, discard cards, reshuffle someone’s hand or your own, or a whole list of other things.

What was the most frustrating moment or aspect of what you just played?
Having to recalculate my point total every time that the hands were switched or changed
What was your favorite moment or aspect of what you just played?
Switching my low hand with Luke’s because he had significantly better cards in his hand
Was there anything you wanted to do that you couldn’t?
Quickly figuring out my score. I didn’t want my point score to be visible to others so I didn’t use my calculator
If you had a magic wand to wave, and you could change, add, or remove anything from the experience, what would it be?
Maybe removing some of the card specific rules that change people’s hands
    Also possibly removing face cards
How has the play experience changed since the first play test?
    N/A
Is this a game you would play again? Why?
I would try this again if some of the mechanics were tweaked

  3. Hey Aaron! I enjoyed being able to test your updated version of this game. Here’s my notes from the second test

What was the most frustrating moment or aspect of what you just played?
The recalculation of the hand up to 50 can be a bit much for each round but I honestly don’t think it’s too bad; more of a necessary evil for the game to work properly. It also makes it much better to have a calculator on hand.

What was your favorite moment or aspect of what you just played?
I enjoyed the mobility that the cards and each players hands have as well

Was there anything you wanted to do that you couldn’t?
I wish I could have held my hand a bit longer

If you could change, add, or remove anything from the experience, what would it be?
I would change the lower value cards to be hand builders. Keep the special card powers to the higher value face cards and it may solidify players’ hands

How has the play experience changed since the first play test?
It runs way smoother and makes a lot more sense with the update to the rules.

Would you play again and why?
For sure! It’s a fast-paced game that can have as many or as little players as you want, which works well to kill time.

    Most frustrating?
I wish it was a little easier to count the number of points you have

    Favorite moment?
I liked how the ace made you swap cards clockwise

Anything you wanted to do but couldn’t?
    Calculating my hand

    Magic wand?
Maybe add something to the cards to make it easier to count how many points you have

How has the play changed from the first time?
    My first time playing

    Would you play again?
Yes, I like the pace of the game and it could be anyone’s game because of the hand-switching.

  5. Playtest for – V2 (Aaron)
    Tester – Delaney

What was the most frustrating moment or aspect of what you just played?
    – Doing math quickly – it was hard to stay on track with the game and do the math simultaneously

What was your favorite moment or aspect of what you just played?
    – Having to finally give in and pull out my calculator only to find out I had a hand of 50
    – Watching players cause a shuffle or switch of hands only to end up with a worse hand of cards

Was there anything you wanted to do but couldn’t?
    – I think the game could have a little bit of poker face aspect to it, which I think would be interesting trying to figure out who has a good hand just by looking at them, it was just hard to keep track of other players when the math slows you down.

If you had a magic wand to wave, and you could change, add, or remove anything from the experience, what would it be?
    – Add more to a turn, so that players aren’t just drawing cards – either make them discard/play something in a turn
    – Maybe some sort of “trump” that would let a player hold onto their hand for a turn?
    – An easier way to keep track of how much your hand is worth

How has the experience changed since the first play test?
N/A – Did not play previous test

Is this a game you would play again? Why?
    – Yes! I’m not a really big math person because I struggle with it, but I would definitely like to try the game a second time and see what changes.

  6. Playtest for V2 (Aaron)
    Tester – River
Most frustrating? – Quick mental math is difficult, especially with the random number values.
Favorite moment? – I got Delaney’s cards which sucked, and was able to play a seven to get rid of them.
Anything you wanted to do but couldn’t? – I wish I was better at mental math
Magic wand? – Discard mechanic so you don’t just collect cards.
How has play changed? – My first time playing, so not sure how it has changed.
Play again? – No, it went way too quickly and I’m not good at mental math.
