Even though the concept makes sense, the execution is very difficult to play. Traditional solitaire works because the Kings are used to fill in gaps and the smaller number become visible. In this interpretation, all the cards you need get covered up too fast. Also the Kings and Queens don’t have much of a use now because they are basically valued as lesser cards. If the rule that Kings can only fill empty spaces make the game stall because nothing can be built on the King because it is the highest card and the rules say that you must build up. It might make sense to add the rule and say 2s can fill gaps or any card can fill the gaps so the game can keep moving. I played twice and got stuck both times…
I think the concept of the game makes sense but the only thing I have to add is the fact that I don’t know how to win or lose since it is not specified. Also, when placing the groups at the top, do we only make it 2 groups since we are putting the red cards with the red and the black cards with the black? Do we also place the cards from ace to king to queen etc or do we just leave it as two to three to four?
The twist that was put on the regular solitaire game seemed really fun and interesting. However, I gave this version two tries and was unable to finish the game both times. It could just be that I played the game wrong myself. If I did play it correctly though, I guess a way to try to fix the problem would be to add more cards maybe?
