Connect Four – Hannah Williams

Connect Four Rules:

  • Normally, you aim to make a row of 4 pieces. HOWEVER…

  • Instead of making a row, you will aim to make shapes out of 4 pieces

  • Each shape is worth a set of points. Whoever has the most points wins!

  • If you end in a tie, or neither player makes any shapes, start over!

Shapes and their points:

Parallelogram = 1 point

Square = 3 points

Diamond = 5 points

!DO NOT MAKE ROWS!

    1. Symbols are unclear. Are there holes in the diamond? Does it count if the shape is rotated? What happens when you make a shape out of a shape?

    2. It was a cool concept.

    3. Making shapes was confusing and almost impossible.

    4. Add more shapes or clarify shapes to make more sense.

    6. Simple but confusing.

    Suggestions-
    – Make the shapes and their points more clear. Maybe draw the actual connect 4 board and highlight the certain shapes that qualify for points. Right now we know know if there is a space in between or not. (for example the diamond)
    – Can you make another shape off of one shape you already got points for? Clarify in the instructions that you can or cannot build off another shape.
    – Name change? Since the objective is not to connect 4, a name change would be less confusing

  3. Great renewal of the Connect Four game. I liked having to look for ways to create shapes rather than the traditional way to win.

    The only thing that got confusing for me was that there was no instructions on what to do when the shapes connected, because that happened a lot.
