Poachers want to kill the animals for profit and the Conservationists want to save the animals by taking them to an animal sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SETUP:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, separate the <strong>C<\/strong>onservationist &amp; <strong>P<\/strong>oacher<strong> <\/strong>tiles to their respective sides of the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2 Players<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Both players are on opposing teams. Each player controls both of their <strong>C <\/strong>or <strong>P <\/strong>tiles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3 Players<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 players are on one team, 1 player is on the other. It\u2019s a 2v1, play accordingly. No rules change, but the team with 1 player can move both of the <strong>P <\/strong>tiles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>4 Players<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Again, the rules do not change but abilities are shared, <em>i.e. each poacher can only call in 1 law enforcement sweep per game for a total of 2 for the team<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Place your <strong>C <\/strong>and <strong>P <\/strong>tiles anywhere in the row closest to you. This is called your <strong>starting row<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Separate all of the different tiles (green \u201c<strong>vegetation<\/strong>\u201d tiles, brown \u201c<strong>animal<\/strong>\u201d tiles, blue circular \u201c<strong>law enforcement<\/strong>\u201d tiles).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The teams (<strong>poachers<\/strong> or <strong>conservationists<\/strong>) split the <strong>vegetation<\/strong> &amp; <strong>animal <\/strong>tiles evenly between the two teams. For the <strong>animal<\/strong> tiles, there\u2019s <strong>5 tiles<\/strong>, so the team going second gets the extra <strong>animal<\/strong> tile to place. Both teams should have <strong>12 vegetation<\/strong> tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both teams place their <strong>vegetation tiles<\/strong> on the board in any location on their half of the board. These tiles are <strong>not to be moved<\/strong> during the game. When placing vegetation tiles, ensure you do not block an entire row. There must be a gap to move through.<em> <\/em>Once the <strong>vegetation <\/strong>tiles are on the board, place the <strong>animal<\/strong> tiles anywhere in the marked rows on the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PLAYER TURN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first team to go is decided by rock, paper, scissors. Decide a turn order from there, and stick to that order. Ensure that your entire team goes before the next team plays their turns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the player\u2019s turn, they first move their <strong>P<\/strong> or <strong>C<\/strong> tile&nbsp; <strong>0, 1, or 2 spaces<\/strong>. They then have the choice to <strong>shoot<\/strong>, or in the case of the <strong>conservationists<\/strong>, <strong>heal <\/strong>an<strong> animal <\/strong>or call a<strong> law enforcement sweep.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the player on the <strong>conservationist<\/strong> team has a <strong>law enforcement tile <\/strong>in play, they get to move their <strong>C <\/strong>tile then their <strong>law enforcement<\/strong> tile <em>(refer to abilities for details)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After each <strong>poacher<\/strong> and each <strong>conservationist<\/strong> has taken 3 turns each, flip the sun to the moon, or vice versa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GENERAL RULES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of the game is to be the first team to bring <strong>3 animals<\/strong> to their <strong>truck<\/strong>. An animal can be considered captured when it has reached your starting row. It can then be put in the truck square included with the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MOVEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the duration of <strong>Jungle Justice<\/strong>, players will take turns moving their tiles. <strong>Poachers <\/strong>and <strong>conservationists<\/strong> can both move <strong>up to 2 tiles<\/strong> in any direction <em>except<\/em> diagonal. <strong>Law enforcement<\/strong> can move <strong>up to 3 tiles<\/strong> in any direction <em>except<\/em> diagonal. You must move each <strong>poacher<\/strong> or each <strong>conservationist<\/strong> every turn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both <strong>poachers <\/strong>and <strong>conservationists<\/strong> must carry an <strong>animal<\/strong> back to their <strong>truck<\/strong>, which means that they are encumbered and can only move <strong>1 tile<\/strong> while carrying an <strong>animal<\/strong>. <strong>Poachers<\/strong> cannot <strong>shoot<\/strong> or <strong>hide<\/strong> while carrying an animal. <strong>Conservationists<\/strong> cannot heal or call in a <strong>law enforcement sweep<\/strong> while carrying an <strong>animal<\/strong>. Both <strong>conservationists<\/strong> and <strong>poachers<\/strong> can <strong>drop the animal<\/strong> they are carrying if they need to get away from the other player. The animal stays where they drop it until it is picked up again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vegetation<\/strong> tiles can only be crossed by <strong>poachers<\/strong>. <strong>Poachers<\/strong> cannot shoot while hiding in the <strong>vegetation. <\/strong>If a <strong>poacher<\/strong> is in a <strong>vegetation<\/strong> tile, they can only move <strong>1 tile<\/strong> per turn until they are out in the open again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TIME<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time passes in this game. A <strong>day\/night<\/strong> cycle is <strong>6 total turns<\/strong> (<strong>3 turns<\/strong> for each <strong>poacher <\/strong>and <strong>conservationist<\/strong> in the <strong>daytime<\/strong> and <strong>3 turns <\/strong>for each in the <strong>nighttime)<\/strong>. Use the turn counter to keep track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DEATH\/ARREST<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>death<\/strong> of a <strong>conservationist<\/strong> or the <strong>arrest<\/strong> of a <strong>poacher<\/strong> both mechanically work the same way. The dead <strong>conservationist<\/strong> or arrested <strong>poacher<\/strong> gets pulled off the board for <strong>3 turns<\/strong>, the round they are <strong>shot\/arrested<\/strong> counts as their first round out of the game. <strong>After 3 rounds<\/strong> they may return to the board from the <strong>starting row<\/strong> on their respective side of the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TEAM ABILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both teams have a small set of <strong>abilities<\/strong> that can be used against their opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POACHERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Poachers<\/strong> can shoot at animals and only <strong>once per game<\/strong>, they can <strong>shoot<\/strong> at a <strong>conservationist <\/strong>or a <strong>law enforcement officer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Poachers<\/strong> can only <strong>shoot<\/strong> at <strong>night.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Poachers<\/strong> must be <strong>within<\/strong><strong>2<\/strong><strong>tiles<\/strong> of either the <strong>animal<\/strong> or the <strong>conservationist <\/strong>to <strong>shoot<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a <strong>conservationist<\/strong> or <strong>animal <\/strong>has been shot, the&nbsp; <strong>animal <\/strong>tile gets flipped over to indicate that it is dead. (If there are 2 people on the <strong>conservationist<\/strong> team, the person controlling that tile is out of the game until their 3 turns are up)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Poachers <\/strong>must <strong>shoot<\/strong> an <strong>animal<\/strong> before bringing it back to their <strong>truck<\/strong> (anywhere in the labeled <strong>starting row<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Poachers<\/strong> can only shoot at an <strong>animal<\/strong> or <strong>conservationist<\/strong> if the path to their target is clear. No shooting through a dead animal, other player, or vegetation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Poachers <\/strong>can <strong>hide<\/strong> in vegetation tiles, but cannot shoot when they are in them. To <strong>hide <\/strong>in a vegetation tile, the <strong>poacher <\/strong>just moves into the tile by placing their <strong>P <\/strong>tile on top of the <strong>vegetation<\/strong> tile. This means that <strong>law enforcement officers <\/strong>won\u2019t be able to <strong>arrest<\/strong> you so long as you are <strong>hidden<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CONSERVATIONISTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conservationists<\/strong> can <strong>heal<\/strong> <strong>animals<\/strong> if they are <strong>dead, <\/strong>only during the <strong>daytime<\/strong> (obviously it\u2019s impossible to resurrect something but let\u2019s pretend it isn\u2019t). <strong>Conservationists<\/strong> can only bring an animal back to the <strong>truck<\/strong> if it is alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Conservationists<\/strong> can can only heal an animal if their <strong>C <\/strong>tile is on top of the animal tile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conservationists<\/strong> must <strong>heal<\/strong> the <strong>animal <\/strong>before bringing it back to their <strong>truck<\/strong> if it is <strong>dead<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each <strong>conservationist<\/strong>, only once per game, can call in a local <strong>law enforcement sweep<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Law enforcement<\/strong> will only spend 3 turns in the game (not including its initial spawn), so time it well!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When a <strong>law enforcement sweep <\/strong>is called, the <strong>conservationist<\/strong> calling can place one of the <strong>law enforcement<\/strong> tiles anywhere within a <strong>2-tile radius<\/strong> of whichever <strong>C <\/strong>tile(s) they control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Law enforcement<\/strong> tiles are essentially an extra tile that the Conservationist can control. They can move <strong>3 tiles per turn<\/strong> as opposed to the usual 2 tiles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Law enforcement <\/strong>tiles can arrest a <strong>poacher<\/strong> for a duration of <strong>3 turns<\/strong>. The <strong>poacher<\/strong> must be within a radius of <strong>1 tile <\/strong>around the <strong>law enforcement<\/strong> tile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When a <strong>poacher <\/strong>is arrested, the respective <strong>P<\/strong> tile is flipped for the duration of the arrest, then returns to <strong>start over at the starting row<\/strong> after they are <strong>released<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luke Conte Jungle Justice is a team-oriented game in which 2-4 players compete to be the first to collect 3 of the 5 endangered animals.
