{"id":2909,"date":"2018-02-06T21:03:05","date_gmt":"2018-02-07T01:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rmu.andrewyames.com\/?p=2909"},"modified":"2018-02-06T21:03:05","modified_gmt":"2018-02-07T01:03:05","slug":"chessrpg-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rmu.andrewyames.com\/?p=2909","title":{"rendered":"ChessRPG Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>ChessRPG &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><em>Desmond Rossignoli<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Materials Included:<\/strong><br \/>\nStandard 8&#215;8 chess board<br \/>\n2 sets of 16 chess pieces with draw-erase bases<br \/>\n12 Ability cards (2 sets of 6)<br \/>\nDraw-erase marker w\/ eraser<\/p>\n<p><strong>Set-up<\/strong><br \/>\nThe game is set up like a standard chess game.<br \/>\nRow 1 (Player 1): Rook, Knight, Bishop, Queen, King, Bishop, Knight, Rook<br \/>\nRow 2 (Player 1): Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn<br \/>\nRow 7 (Player 2): Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn, Pawn<br \/>\nRow 8 (Player 2): Rook, Knight, Bishop, Queen, King, Bishop, Knight, Rook<br \/>\nSet all of the pieces to maximum health by filling in the numerator on the bottom of each chess piece (for example, the bottom of the queen should show 2\/2).<br \/>\nThe younger player goes first.<\/p>\n<p><b>New Rules for Attacking:<\/b><br \/>\n&#8211; When attacking a piece, check your attack value and subtract that from the opponent&#8217;s piece.<br \/>\n&#8211; If you do not completely kill a piece, you do not move your piece to replace it.<br \/>\n&#8211; If you successfully kill a piece, you MUST move your piece to replace it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Abilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>King<\/em>: Enemy pieces adjacent to your king cannot move or attack.<br \/>\n<em>Queen<\/em>: When your queen has line-of-sight to the enemy king, the enemy king&#8217;s ability is canceled.<br \/>\n<em>Bishop<\/em>: As your action, you may swap a bishop for one of your dead pieces.\u00a0 The piece is brought back onto\u00a0the board at full health.<br \/>\n<em>Knight<\/em>: When one of your pieces is adjacent to one of your knights, that piece may move and attack as a knight would.<br \/>\n<em>Rook<\/em>: Any of your pieces next to one of your rooks cannot be attacked.<br \/>\n<em>Pawn<\/em>: If a piece of yours is attacked and a pawn of yours is adjacent to it, the pawn may take the damage instead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stats:<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>King:\u00a0<\/em>5 attack, 1 health<br \/>\n<em>Queen:\u00a0<\/em>4 attack, 2 health<br \/>\n<em>Bishop<\/em>: 3 attack, 3 health<br \/>\n<em>Knight<\/em>: 2 attack, 4 health<br \/>\n<em>Rook<\/em>: 1 attack, 5 health<br \/>\n<em>Pawn<\/em>: 1 attack, 1 health<\/p>\n<p><em>*Stats and abilities are displayed on ability cards<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>End of Game:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe game ends &#8211; as any chess game does &#8211; when a king is removed from the board.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ChessRPG &#8211;\u00a0Desmond Rossignoli Materials Included: Standard 8&#215;8 chess board 2 sets of 16 chess pieces with draw-erase bases 12 Ability cards (2 sets of 6) Draw-erase marker w\/ eraser Set-up The game is set up like a standard chess game.
