{"id":10276,"date":"2024-09-23T09:29:28","date_gmt":"2024-09-23T13:29:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rmu.andrewyames.com\/?p=10276"},"modified":"2024-10-03T16:38:00","modified_gmt":"2024-10-03T20:38:00","slug":"game-rules-pt2-court-of-champions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rmu.andrewyames.com\/?p=10276","title":{"rendered":"Game Rules PT2: Court of Champions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong> Compete to earn the most points by completing trivia questions and physical challenges related to basketball history and rules as you navigate the court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Game Components:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Game Board (Basketball court of some sort)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Challege Cards (Trivia questions and physical challenge)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Player Tokens (basketball themed players)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dice (six sided)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Score sheet\/ Pencils<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Timer (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Setup:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Place the Game Board:<\/strong>&nbsp;Lay out the game board in the center of the playing area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Distribute Player Tokens:<\/strong>&nbsp;Each player chooses a token and places it at the starting point on the board (e.g., &#8220;Tip-Off&#8221; space).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shuffle Challenge Cards:<\/strong>&nbsp;Mix the Challenge Cards and place them face down in a designated area on the board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prepare the Score Sheet:<\/strong>&nbsp;Ensure each player has access to a score sheet to track points.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Game Play:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Turn Order<\/strong>: Players decide the turn order by rolling a dice  (Highest roll goes first)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rolling the Dice:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On their turn, a player rolls the die and moves their token forward the number of spaces rolled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a player lands on a special space (indicated on the board), they must perform the associated action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Challenge Spaces:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Trivia Space:<\/strong>\u00a0If a player lands on a Trivia Space, they draw a Trivia Challenge Card and read the trivia question aloud. If they answer correctly, they earn points (e.g., 1 point for basic questions, 2 points for advanced questions).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Challenge Space:<\/strong>&nbsp;If a player lands on a Challenge Space, they draw a Challenge Card that may require them to perform a physical task (e.g., &#8220;Make a paper ball into a trash can&#8221; or &#8220;Dribble a ball five times&#8221;).
