From observing as the game maker, gameplay went smoothly. Players enjoyed bluffing, bidding, and auctioning. Players were most frustrated by doing math with the money haha.
Here are some things I would consider tweaking for a next iteration:
Adding spots where players can collect money.
If there is a personal auction, player selling should be able to set a minimum. Minimum personal bid could depend on information on the value cards or the amount of money in your hand. (you have 100K, minimum is 100k).
I should specify that bidding is on 50k intervals.
Color the private auction envelopes or get colored clips to put on envelopes for players to keep track of their envelopes.
I have thoughts on private auctions, and I see you are already planning to alter them. I think allowing players to set a minimum bid is good. I’m also wondering if there could be a penalty if the highest bidder wants to back out of a bid. And since players are moving around the board, could there be different auction houses, one for low value items, two for mid value items, and one for high value items.
I absolutely would love to see more continuations of this game, It was clean and organized and was so easy to learn. I can’t wait to see if you do anything else with it!
I really enjoyed this game. It was simple to learn yet very exciting. I feel like it may be a challenge to get the private auctions just right but I think you are on a good path with them. I agree with what you said about having to be careful about restricting the private auctions too much as to giveaway the value of the card. Maybe a dice roll could help determine the minimum bid… just a thought.
Overall, I LOVED IT.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! I dice roll could be a good idea for the minimum bid… I will have to keep testing it!
I thought this game was so unique and fun! I hope you plan to do another version of it! Pretty much all the comments above covered what we already talked about while playing, so great job! <3
